Rob’s Digital Life

Rob Evans is Head of the Integrated Telecoms Sourcing Group for Orange Business Services.

Rob spent almost 10 years at IBM in various roles including Network Delivery European Business Operations Manager and European Purchased Telecoms Manager. Rob managed other managers across Europe and completed IBM’s managers program.

Rob is interested in how technology and business work together, how conversations are the start of all business transaction and how enterprises can learn from the revolution in social tools.

Rob is a mobile worker and lives in Chester with his wife and daughters.

Rob has started and run three businesses (but failed to make any a success!), a mobile communications website focusing on mobile data, the site had a vertical search engine featured in PC PRO magazine. However, Rob had a cease and desist letter before they became fashionable, (I’ll write up what happened and the irony in the story one day). Rob also ran an online mobile phone and data products business and an office integration consultancy for SMB’s in the north west of the UK.

Rob has a PhD in Financial Management and a first class honours degree from Liverpool University.

Rob first started writing a news web site (focusing on the UK Telecom industry) 11 years ago and has now been blogging here for just over 5 years.
