Skype, Orb, SlingMedia, MSN etc all for free..this looks like an unlimited data package but walled in with 3’s preferred suppliers. I guess it’s [...]

EasyMobile UK shuts down
November 16th, 2006 · 2 Comments
Not really a shame but not great news for UK consumer choice. I recalled seeing Stelios about a year back at the Telco awards having a pop at all the telco’s in the room telling them he was coming to eat thier lunch. I guess it’s one of two things, A, it’s tough in the [...]

This is great news for people wanting to contact people on Skype. Not so hot news for Skype as it’ll take a chunk out of the Skype-In revenue. [via]

November 10th, 2006 · No Comments
This is the last question in the Telco 2.0 survey and the one I found most thought provoking.
Imagine you had the opportunity to change the Telco landscape (get out the magic wand). What would you change and why?
I put down three areas that I think need focus.

‘Rip-off’ hotel wi-fi slammed

Good Hotel Guide sticks the boot in…
I think that they’ll have to put a little more than a boot in to fix this issue. It is just a huge rip off. Luckily I have a 3G data card, a Openzone account, a Boingo account and now a FON id which covers most bases. [via]

BT to upgrade Chester’s ADSL infrastructure.
November 8th, 2006 · 1 Comment
wahoo..BT has chosen Chester as one of it’s first City’s to be upgraded to new ADSL 2+ infrastructure. This was an article in our local free rag. Not sure if our routers go beyond 8mb’s, but I can only get 2mb’s right now so an upgrade is sure welcome!
