mNotes is Crashing my C600

February 2nd, 2006 · 2 Comments

As you may know I use mNotes to sync my lotus notes calendar and address book to my phone, well it’s started to crash. I’m sure it’s mNotes that’s the issue as it’s the only software I’ve installed. Anyway, I’ve written them the following email asking for help.

I’m running mNotes 4.1.0.201. on an Orange SPV C600 running Windows Mobile 5 (WM5) and I’ve been seeing the following issues.

I only run mNotes on the C600 and no other software, so it’s a clean phone just running mNotes, no other add-on applications.

1. Syncing has failed, when I check the phone it says “insufficient memory to run application”. This is fixed by re-booting the phone.

2. The phone memory quickly vanishing. The task manager tool allows you to see how much free memory is available. When you first boot the phone you normally see about 28,000KB of memory, after a day that disappears to 6,000KB with no other applications running, where’s it gone?

3. The phone crashes, I can’t pin this down to either when a calendar entry is displayed or whilst syncing, I think it’s the later. But the screen displays the following error message. “Error Cd21 Cd2RweCalendar exception Code C000000D at 03EF86C4″

There appears to be a bit of a theme that potentially mNotes is leaking the memory maybe?

Now prior to the C600 I had a C500 which ran mNotes without the slightest problem what so ever, So I’m guessing it’s a Windows Mobile 5 issue.

I’m sure Commontime will respond promptly, they allways do.

    Hi,
Just wondering if you are still using mNotes.

I just got a Dash with WM5 and trying mNotes and find that it leaks memory on every replication. Same issue as yours. Did test to have it replicate every 5 minutes, just contacts and calendars and after about 12 sessions it refuses to start.

    Just wondering what support said.

    Thanks
    Miguel

PS. I was using Pylon on Treo 650 before, but it does not work with WM5 / Active Sync for some reason so was giving mNotes a try.

    Hi,

Yes, I’m back using my C600 as I dumped the Nokia N70 as it wasn’t up to the same standard as the C600.

    Which version are you running?

I allways found Commontime to be extremely helpful, just drop them an email explaining the problem and they usually point you to a version of code that fixes that bug.

Never used Pylon, I used Lotus Easysync first which was rubbish when I had my Treo 600. But the move to mNotes has been worth every penny. The information it put’s into your calendar is so much better than any other sync program I have used.

So try the Commintime team they are good at helping..Good Luck!
