Level 3 Communications posts loss for 3Q

The company’s net loss grew to $204 million, or 29 cents per share,
from $171 million, or 25 cents, a year ago. On average, analysts
surveyed by Thomson Financial were looking for a loss of 31 cents per
share.


Revenue declined 5 percent to $799 million from $840 million last year,
beating analysts’ consensus target of $778.6 million. Communications
revenue fell 14 percent to $364 million, while information services
gained 6 percent to $415 million

That’s not a good set of figures for level 3.  AT&T just announced a $40m profit.
